A mother once approached Napoleon seeking a pardon for her son. The emperor replied that the young man had committed a certain offense twice and justice demanded death. “But I don’t ask for justice,” the mother explained. “I plead for mercy.” “But your son does not deserve mercy,” Napoleon replied. “Sir,” the woman cried, “It would not be mercy if he deserved it, and mercy is all I ask for.” “Well, then,” the emperor said, “I will have mercy.” And he spared the woman’s son.

He is risen
And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that momen
t the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people.
The Passover Table
Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you…
So this day shall be to you a memorial; and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord throughout your generations.
Exodus 12:13-14
For indeed Christ, our Passover was sacrficed for us. Therefore let us keep the feast…
